Carbon Reduction Plan 2025
Publication Date: March 2025
Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
At Scientific Sanitation Solutions, we recognise the urgent need to take decisive action in response to the global climate crisis. Our commitment to sustainability is not just a responsibility—it’s a core value that underpins our business strategy, innovation, and future growth.
This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines our structured approach to identifying, measuring, and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our entire value chain. Our aim is to:
- Achieve Net Zero emissions by 2035, in line with UK government guidance and international climate targets.
- Transition to a carbon-negative organisation by 2050, actively removing more carbon than we emit.
This plan includes our baseline carbon footprint, current reporting framework, and both completed and planned reduction initiatives. It has been developed using industry-recognised methodologies and government-aligned standards, ensuring transparency, scientific accuracy, and credibility.
As a company founded on scientific innovation, we are committed to embedding sustainability into every decision we make—ensuring our operations, products, and partnerships align with a low-carbon future.

Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline Year: January 2023 – December 2023
This plan includes our baseline carbon footprint, current reporting framework, and both completed and planned reduction initiatives. It has been developed using industry-recognised methodologies and government-aligned standards, ensuring transparency, scientific accuracy, and credibility.
Our baseline year provides a clear emissions benchmark before implementing substantial reduction strategies. We measure all applicable Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions using the latest government-approved emissions factors. All 7 Kyoto Protocol GHGs are included.

Emissions Reduction Targets
We are committed to validated science-based targets and are aligning our reduction pathways with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our milestones are as follows:
- 50% reduction in absolute emissions by 2030 from the 2023 baseline.
- 100% renewable electricity across operations by 2026.
- Carbon-negative operations across core products by 2050.
Progress is tracked annually, and results will be published in our annual environmental impact report.
